Top Teaching Tip of the Week – DIFFERENTIATION from Julie Maher

Its that time of year when we update our teaching resources in preparation for the next academic year. Differentiation should always be a key part of our planning. “Begin with what you want the most able to achieve and then differentiate down from there, ensuring those who need the most support have access to this”. Here are some quick wins that we can prepare over the summer:

Our classrooms displays – building up a bank of resources to model what success looks like

Scaffolding – via writing frames and other supportive materials

Choice of task – offer at least two choices of varying difficulty
